Our view during the centuries

The view that you can admire from our windows has attracted the attention of many famous names.

This view of the Grand Canal has been portrayed by significant artists, among them Canaletto. Our B&B is located at an extraordinary viewpoint, where the Grand Canal is embellished by a special perpsective depth. The influential aristocratic Zen family, that had navigated the rivers of the North America over a century before Christopher Columbus and owned various palazzos in Venice, chose exactly this location for the unique building on the Grand Canal. Renier Zen was the 45th Doge of Venice, reigning from January 8th 1253 until July 7th 1268.

Here below you can find a time line which shows the works of art made from this viewpoint.
